I started my journey with Mavis Medix after many failed diet attempts including B12 injections, prepared foods, counting calories- the works. I made an appointment and got together with Dr. Khan and Hadeel. Being a very social person.
At my one year mark I had lost 61 pounds, lowered my cholesterol, blood pressure was excellent and a serious medicated GERD issue I had suffered from for many years was no longer existent. I have maintained this weight loss for 6 months now – something I have never been able to attain on any other program. This program gave me the tools to be successful. They work to hand the control over to you, the participant.

I started my weight loss Journey at Modest Medix (previously Mavis Medix) with Dr Khan in July 2022. I weighed 282 lbs then. I could hardly walk then.
Today I weigh 193 lbs. I lost 89 lbs which is 46% of my body weight.
I feel good and I am very proud of myself. This was a long and hard journey.
When I first started I did not think I could make it. It took a lot of motivation and hard work. Thanks to the Modest Medix team for continuing to work with me through in person sessions, zoom meetings, and phone calls. Thanks for the support and education. They really encouraged me to keep going. In the beginning when my weight was going down slowly, I did feel down and discouraged at times, but I kept going. I watched my calories, watched what I ate, changed a few habits, did my exercise and never gave up.
When the weight started going down, I felt so proud of myself; this gave me the motivation to continue working harder. The more effort I put in, the more weight I lost.
During my journey, I joined the gym and I went there deliberately. When I first joined it was hard to exercise but I continued and I joined different classes. Everything was so hard at the beginning but with time and perseverance it became easier every day. Even walking around the track was so hard; I started with completing one lap with difficulty to doing 10 laps now.
My overall health has improved drastically and this was so important to me.
My advice is: Although it is hard to lose weight, never give up. It is all in your mind. Get the right support, eat healthy and exercise and you can make it.
